About

The Elastic Ball is the innovative electronic project spearheaded by veteran keyboardist, Ben Harrison. With a distinguished career spanning decades in genres like jazz, rock, hip-hop, funk, and blues, The Elastic Ball’s music consistently transcends conventional boundaries. This diversity, shaped by foundational influences from Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis to electronic pioneers like Aphex Twin and The Orb, allows for a truly inventive and eclectic sound.

The resulting music is an exploration of highly rhythmic, textural and atmospheric soundscapes that defy easy classification. Listeners are encouraged to interpret the music personally—a sound that seamlessly traverses a natural, ambient sensibility with an underlying hint of urban sophistication, creating a "comfortable, but with a hint of discomfort" experience that is uniquely compelling.

The moniker The Elastic Ball is a creative manifesto, inspired by a symbolic, ever-growing ball of rubber bands—a metaphor for the artist's immense backlog of creative ideas and terabytes of works-in-progress. The project signifies a commitment to the necessary act of finishing and releasing these long-gestating works, letting them go "out into the universe," embracing the freedom to continue pursuing new inventive creations.

The Elastic Ball is redefining the space where electronic music meets genuine musical legacy.
